What types of information does Inbound Hype collect?
We may attempt to collect your personal information to give you a personalized browsing experience on our site. We do not, however, force you to submit them.
You are free to not provide us the information we request, but then you won’t be able to take advantage of any of the following features or services.
- Website registration
- Newsletter subscription
- Online support via email, live chat and etc.
- Contests, sweepstakes, and other promotions
- Polls, surveys, or questionnaires
The types and amount of personal and demographic information collected for these activities will vary depending on the activity.
The requested personal information may include: your name, home address, telephone number, e-mail address and (for those purchasing products online) credit card information including billing and shipping addresses.
But don’t worry, none of your credit/debit card details will touch our servers. Once the payment is made, all card details are discarded.
For some activities, we may ask you to create a username and password, and provide other non-personal information such as your age or date of birth, gender, hobbies and interests, and other information (also known as “demographic information”).
If demographic information is collected for an activity that also requires personal information, we may combine the demographic information with your personal information.
Combining data allows us to customize the newsletters we send and the services we provide, according to your interests and preferences.
How does Inbound Hype use the information it collects?
Whatever the purpose may be, we will only collect information to the extent reasonably necessary to fulfill your requests and our legitimate business objectives.
Inbound Hype Services and Updates
Information collected from those who voluntarily submit it to us is used to provide services like daily, weekly or monthly newsletters, updates on special events, and email announcements of interest to our users.
Occasionally, we share your personal information (e.g., e-mail address) with a third-party sponsor, co-sponsor, or other reputable third party that provides products or services that may be of interest to you.
You should understand that community forums, blogs, and message boards are tools that allow you to communicate with members of the online community. As such, whenever you give out personal information in public areas, that information can be collected and used by people you don’t know.
We occasionally use other companies, agents or contractors to perform services necessary to our operations.
For example, we have partnered with other companies to personalize our web pages, process credit card transactions, analyze customer interaction, and process consumer surveys.
In the course of acquiring such services, we may have given limited access of your personally identifying information to these companies.
These entities have agreed to securely store and maintain the personal information received from us, so you have nothing to worry about.
We will send you promotional emails that focus on marketing our products and/or services, from time to time. In addition, we may contact you via your phone number as well.
Finally, we may take your personally identifiable information and make it non-personally identifiable, either by combining it with information about other individuals (aggregating your information with information about other individuals), or by removing characteristics (such as your name) that make the information personally identifiable to you (de-personalizing your information).
For practical reasons, we treat personal information submitted to us in a business capacity different from information we receive in a non-business capacity. Personal information submitted to us in a business capacity (e.g. resumes, event sponsorship, etc.) may be shared with third parties, depending on the nature of the inquiry.
Disclosures Required By Law and Disclosures to Help Protect the Security and Safety of Our Website
What happens if I refuse to provide my personal information to Inbound Hype?
If you choose not to submit personal information when requested, you may not be able to participate in certain activities on our website, and may limit the services we can provide you.
For example, if you refuse to share your email address, you may not be able to receive newsletters and general support, create an account with us, and purchase our products and/or services.
To simply browse our Website, however, you do not need to give us any personal information.
We collect information through technology to make our web site more interesting and useful to you. For example, when you come to our web site, we collect your IP address.
An IP address is often associated with the portal through which you enter the Internet, like your ISP (Internet service provider), your company, or your university.
Standing alone, your IP address is not personally identifiable. At times, we also use IP addresses to collect information regarding the frequency with which our guests visit various parts of our web site.
We will use IP addresses to block spammy users and hackers from accessing our web site, and may even combine this information with personally identifiable information.
Storage of cookies on your system provides an easy and convenient way for us to personalize your experience on our website.
For example, cookies will remember what you’ve placed in your shopping cart, tell us that you have visited our website before, and may contain other information that will make your next visit more enjoyable. We may combine information contained in cookies with your personal information.
You can always disable cookies or set your browser to alert you when cookies are being sent to your computer, although this may affect your ability to shop online, both at Inbound Hype and elsewhere.
We may use web beacons (or clear GIFs) on our website or include them in the e-mail messages we send you.
Web beacons (also known as “web bugs”) are small strings of code that provide a method of delivering a graphic image on a web page or in an email message for the purpose of transferring data.
We use web beacons for many purposes, including site traffic reporting, unique visitor counts, advertising, email auditing, reporting, and personalization.
Information gathered through web beacons may be linked to your personal information.
Inbound Hype may collect information in the form of logs – files that record website activity and gather statistics about visitors’ browsing habits.
These entries are generated anonymously, and help Inbound Hype determine (among other things) how many and how often users have visited our website, which pages they’ve visited, and other similar data (a.k.a., navigational data).
We also use the log file entries for our internal marketing and demographic studies, so we can constantly improve the online services we provide you. Log files are used internally only, and are not associated with any particular user, computer, or browser.
Many advertisements are managed and placed on our web site by third parties. These companies are called “network advertisers.”
In some cases, we may have access to information from Web beacons and cookies used by network advertisers on our site and this information may permit us to identify other sites that you have visited that are also associated with the network advertiser.
We use third-party advertising companies to serve ads when you visit our web site. These companies may use aggregated information (not including your name, address, email address or telephone number) about your visits to this and other web sites in order to provide advertisements about goods and services that are of interest to you.
Who is collecting my personal information and is it shared with anyone?
The information that you disclose on our web site is collected by Inbound Hype or by a vendor on Inbound Hype’s behalf; and, is used in accordance with the practices set forth above.
Vendors (or agents) are entities that provide support for the internal operations of our website and who only use the information we share with them (or that they collect on our behalf) for purposes of internal fulfillment.
From time to time, we may run contests, promotions, and other events or activities on our web site.
Information collected for these events may include personal information such as your email address and may be collected by or shared with a third party sponsor, co-sponsor, or other reputable third party.
If you do not want your information to be collected by or shared with a third party, you can choose not to participate in these events at the time the information is requested.
We may disclose personal information in the good faith belief that we are required to do so by law, including but not limited to disclosure to law enforcement or other government officials in connection with an investigation of fraud, intellectual property infringements, or other activity that is illegal or may expose you or us to legal liability.
In addition, in the event of a merger, acquisition, reorganization, bankruptcy, or other similar event, Inbound Hype’s customer information may be transferred to our successor.
Can I choose how my personal information is used?
If you do not want to receive our newsletter, service related announcements, or any other communications and/or services from Inbound Hype, please opt-out from these communications or services at the time of registration or information collection.
What safeguards does Inbound Hype use to protect my personal information?
Inbound Hype takes reasonable measures to protect the confidentiality, security, and integrity of the personal information collected from you.
Personal information collected by Inbound Hype is stored in secure operating environments that are not available to the public, and are only accessible by authorized employees.
We also have security measures in place to protect the loss, misuse, and alteration of the information under our control.
